wow..I dunn how I missed seeing this for me thing that reaally works in this shot is the congested nature as if the trees are jostling for prominence which in a way in nature they are so I suppose...but hey imagine this as a jigsaw..wouldn't that drive 'em nuts. I dont mind the foreground but the trees in the left back could probly get burned in a tad great shot tho love that congestion...well seen

Kiny I really like how the tree on the far right looks really close to you and the tree on the extreme left looks so far in the distance. It gives the image a real frame and creates depth. Good on you. Kristin

Hi Kel, this was taken with my Cannon SLR so it's a scanned shot. It would be lovely to have a Dig SLR but that's a long way off for me. Cheers

Thanks for your comments/advice Kevin. I do take closer shots of bark in general but didn't at this time, I'll remember for next time. Thanks again. Cheers

Cool photo, and I like the texture on the tree to the right of the frame. Unfortunately, all the twigs in the foreground and all the branches in the background make the frame very busy. perhaps if you had taken it with a longer lens or zoomed in, you could have used the depth of field to make the important parts of the photo the focus point.
Hope this makes sense.

Thank you Fabio, it was a very eerie light coming through the branches but this photo doesn't do it justice. Cheers
