I have yet to see a picture of yours, Roberto, that I haven't said "wow" about.

When I try to capture ray I fix the camera on a strong tripod, set aperture (f/4 - iso 100), open the shutter on Bulb with a remote control and then waiting for... a lot of luck!
If the exposition is too long (no ray in your field of view), to avoid to waste frame, I cover the lens till when I "feel" the right moment.
I spend many frame to take one satisfactory, take a look at http://www.usefilm.com/image/767308.html ;-)
Good luck!
Domenico

Very interesting, Roberto. The lightlning really captures my attention - especially being double like that.
Well done.

good shot. but why the buildings are a little bit blurry? is it because of camera shake?

Well done on a difficult shot, Roberto! I guess it takes a lot of patience and timing to capture these.
Dave.

For the first try this outstanding, Roberto. The ray is so strong that the whole city is shaken. This could be the reason for the deviation of the straight angle, don't mind.

Regards and thanks for your comment

The only reason I gave this otherwise excellent photo a 6 instead of a 7, which it deserves, Roberto, is because you ought to have captured the buildings straight up and not leaning to one side (the right.)
Thank you for you for your friendly comments on my "Green love" and my "Autoportrait with flashes." Some commentators, including myself, are not entirely satisfied with the latter photo and I intend to repost it, corrected, as soon as possible.
Salutos and Shabbat Shalom,
Rafi

Looks like an angry storm. Colors and details are good in the cityscape. Keep on shooting the 'rays' you will eventually get what you are after.

The thing I like best about lightning is the purple hues you get. The buildings also make a great frame for this type of shot, I look forward to seeing more.

Thanks.
