MMM... I feared you were talking about your nose... But I think we all have the same problem with editing pictures.. it's difficult to translate what we have in mind

very nice work here. the skin textures are nice and the controlled exposure and contrast allow this. you don't have large bleached areas. when you talk about editing, it seems your focus is more on after the fact. you're producing nice work, so i think the focus should not be on the edit, but on the original shot, as if it were a negative. focus on the original and how to correct it and then editing will be unnecesary or very easy. nice job here.

Hi Lara, sometimes the most beautiful and effective pictures are simply the way they are when you took it. It shows the exact moment you captured it. It's like showing other people what you saw exactly, and how your heart beats when you took it.
But of course, modifying pictures to make it look more presentable and to add effects to it to blend it with your theme also creates a very effective photos. So, its always your decision on how your photo should look and feel, so that those who views your photos would definitely feel and understand what your message is, and understand the feeling you felt when you took that photo.
And in this particular photo, I don't think it needs to be edited further. The lighting is perfect. The expression, the pose, and the strands of hair that covers part of her face shows a deep sense of drama. This is simply one BEST portrait! :)
...an advise from no expert itself! LOL!

Interesting b&w image. I think if you take more of this type, and create a thematic shots with an interesting theme title, it'll be even better. :) Congrats!

I like it just the way it is. You've framed it perfectly. To me, its as though you've caught her in a moment of shear terror. Jim Gamble
