About I seem to recognize your face
Haunting, familiar, yet I can't seem to place it
Cannot find the candle of thought to light your name
Lifetimes are catching up with me
All these changes taking place, I wish I'd seen the place
But no one's ever taken me
Hearts and thoughts they fade, fade away...
I swear i recognize your breath
Memories like fingerprints are slowly raising
Me you wouldn't recall, for i'm not my former
It's hard when you're stuck upon the shelf

I like the simple composition and the evocative effect of the bike lying in the grass. Very good in b/w. Good work, Dottie!

Ohhh, the broken seat - the tossed aside bike, so sad. Love the title and the about.

Seeing the abandon bike brings back so many memories of seeing my son drop his to chase some other pursuit never giving a thought to where it was left.

Simplicity, but don't it tell a story. Been called in for tea, or the ice cream van is around the corner? Drop everything and run for that latest goodie. Great shot Dottie.

Heck, Dottie, some folks are gonna fuss no matter what hee hee.

Re the torn edge: what graphics program are you using? There are a couple of ways to get it, but it's easiest if you can use layers. There are ready-made plug ins (some free), but the eraser tool does a surprisingly good job.

Hee Hee Deb, that is so funny, I actually had the effect stronger, but I know how some folks fuss about edge treatments so I toned it down a bit. Oh well, it's always an education on this site. kekekekeke Still would like to know how to master that torn edge effect, it looks very strange when I try to do it. :) Dottie

Yah, I thought you might be going for dreamy. For what little it's worth (since it's just my opinion), I think the effect needed to be stronger in that case - right now it's pretty subtle and that's what threw me.

But maybe that's just me. Folks who don't wear contacts probably never have moments like that. :)

PS I was going for the dreamy effect...

Deb, I'll make you a deal, you teach me how to get that effect & I'll give it a go & perhaps a repost. ;) Dottie

Strong composition and great tones. This works really well in black and white.

I'm not real taken with the edge treatment, although I agree it needs one. (I kept thinking I needed to clean my contacts.) I wonder what it would look like with a torn paper effect? Just a thought. :)
