I was wondering what the glow to the east was! And I thought it was the sun.... ;-). The right click tip may still work... Some applications do strip the EXIF info off the file (neatimage free version for example) so it may not be there. I use the exif data alllthe time on my images (thats how I know what the exposure info is when I post the image as well as what focal length was used at the time). Quite useful when reviewing images too if there is an effect you want to recreate. Keep those great images coming!!!

Hey Alastair, Thank you very much, I'm flattered (and red in the face.. ;-D) by so much praise. My friends tell me often: 'you see everything' (I'm not sure they like that all the time ;-)) Thank you also for the 'right click' tip, I didn't know that one yet, very handy...the only problem is: I usualy import a pic into photohouse, mirror it, then back again, save it and it's much smaller afterwards.... from about 1.1 Mb to 300 kb... and since I have a laptop as my only PC, I'm a bit careful with space...
Greetz, Petal (still red in the face...)

Another impossibly good photo from your little 2MP camera! Have you thought about sending some to Canon for their advertising to show what can be done with 2MP ;-)? You have a great eye for the image Petal and a superb ability to bring out the best from what you see. The detail on this flower is so delicate and clear! Just goes to show you don't need a huge expensive SLR (like mine :-( ) to get this quality of image. If you need to know the aperture you can get it fro the original file by reading the exif information (in Windows XP right click the file, select properties, summary then advanced and all the image information is there....).

Oh ok, I was just curious--its a great picture and I was impressed by such shallow DOF--it just seems when I try to capture images such as that I don't seem to have the DOF you obtained (however, I don't have a macro lense--yet!--for my camera, so maybe that will change things). Thanks for posting an answer to my question!

Hi Erin!! As I'm using a Canon IXUS 330 (small 2 Megapixel camera) it only has two settings: automatic and manual (the one I use). I can do almost everything with this 'little thing', but it doesn't display any aperture (according to specs it's F2.7-F4.7) or exposure settings... so I'm sorry but I can't tell you anything more about it.

I like this photo a lot. What aperture were you at to get such small DOF? Great color, btw.
