About
This was El Edwardo's favorite publicity shot. It was also one of the earlier one's I'd taken of him (I chose to include a very rare autographed one with his trademark "peace sign" after his name - he was a man of the people, all around the world, and he wanted nothing more than peace and love everywhere) I remember when I took this shot at an exclusive hotel in Palm Springs. His agent, Mel Goldstein, told me, "Give me James Dean, Early Brando, Fonzi, and Don Johnson cool all in one shot" So that's what I tried to do. I guess it worked cause the movie scripts just started pouring in - every big Director in town wanted to work with him. He passed up a lot of great scripts (including a remake of "American Gigolo" and "Die Hard 4") but the one he finally did pick would shoot his fame into outer space.... unfortunately, The pressures and excesses of stardom were also starting to rear their ugly little heads - but before those became too big a problem, El Edwardo still had some "fun party time" left on the meter (and believe me, he used up every last second). Coming next - El Edwardo - Life at the Top - the Movie Star and some famous friends...This is the end of Act I . After a short break, Act II will begin.
..I have to go thru all El Edwardo's images to piece together a picture of his life as it may be or not be..I'll touch back later when I have viewed his history..K
Thank you everybody, more is coming in a few days. I'm glad El Edwardo is finally being recognized for the great talent he was.... Yes Audra, the shirt is fantastic, El Edwardo always knew just what to wear to look his best - the man's judgement was amazing.........
Incredible, Ashley mentioned a friend called Ben, and believe me I do know a friend "Canadian" looks like him and his name Ben, so surprise, you Al looks so confident and powerful. nice story and capture dear,Mark.Saeed
Well, Michael, You're KINDA in luck. I do have one more but El spelled TOP wrong - put an E at the end kinda like then Vice President Dan Quayle so many years back. I'll try to find out what it's worth......... (you know SOMETIMES "El" needed a little something to handle all the pressure and stress so you really can't blame him on the spelling thing.)
wow you are so lucky to have gotten one autographed by him. I've been searching for a while now for an autographed one and i've seen them selling on ebay for $500!!!! If only I could afford that much.. do you have any extra copies?
