Richard, let's not forget Grand Funk Railroad, Bob Seeger (I'm 99% sure), and the soon to be Queen of "Crash and Burn"(if she doesn't stop acting super goofy) - Madonna. (I'm a native son and spent 2 "wonderful" years there building snowmen and throwing snowballs. Don't remember any of it but it's all on super 8 film - rolls of it). Gotta stick up for the "motor city" a bit. There's still hope for a play, maybe they'll adapt "Roger and Me"(that actually might be quite funny)......there's even a famous Stones bootleg from the '69 tour - Detroit show - called "We never really got it on until Detroit" - Jagger quote. So it's had it's moments. Dearest Audra, how about the coolest cat of all, Miles Davis? Nobody's talkin' about him......

Lucky you! All my parents listened to were Broadway show tunes. I can still sing the entire score to Oklahoma. Heck, when I was a kid I thought we LIVED in Oklahoma!!!!! Why else would they be playing it all the time. How I ended up playing guitar in a rock band I'll never know. Then my lead singer went to India to find God, and found heroin instead. Maybe I should have stayed with Oklahoma .... "where the wind comes right before the rain". Sounds like a great place. Too bad about all the twisters though. How come they never did a Broadway show about Michigan???? The Stooges or the MC5 could have written the score. Or better yet Ted Nugent. Love your work Babe, keep pushing the envelope. Love to hear you sing sometime too. Jazz singers are ageless.

Audra, I don't think we have to worry about you becoming "one of those people". As you can tell your are regarded very highly for your talent. I have spoken to a mutual friend, Rona, and we agree that this piece is incredible. I would love to learn the technique you used to make such a great picture. Please email me sometime so that I may learn from a true master. ;)

Yes I hear thats what the real ar-teeests do...and when I grow up I wanna be a real ar-teeest..so I can't go around titling things now can I ? I mean the goal is to have people think that I'm this creative genius with art spilling out of me at all times...you know, writing on napkins and whatnot..I mean... How can one "title" the constant energy flows of a creative genius? No no ..I'll just create. My fans can take my work into their eager little minds and title it themselves in silent awe.
EHEHEHEHEHEHEHEH....So much for being an inside joke..well..it's still sort of "under wraps" Oh..and if I ever turn into the person I've just described..? Feel free to smack me.

I should have known you would sing too. Jazz! Do you do that bluesy sort of Jazz like Holly Cole???? If you do, I am sooooo in love. I played in a blues band many years ago. I quit partly because I could not deal with the lifestyle, so I understand your dilema. I bet you listen to Coltrane too. His death was an American tragedy.

This is fabulous. I know the feeling of for right now I don't do that atmosphere; my days of bartending are done but my new life is exciting and promising. I was floored by this work...very creative, moody, the squares give it I'm coming out feeling...it all works...and so will you.

Dear Audra, Well, what can I say, you know I was gonna love this one. You always make such intense contact with the camera. This would be a good CD cover. IMO you should put up a second version without the squares and more color (I think the grain is good the way it is). This shot's so strong you can do a lot variations of it....Title? just go ahead and call 'em all "untitled" - that would be cool (that's what we'd do in Hollywood or Soho) a 7+ and into my favs. Mark

Interesting example of a new direction for you. The composition works and the tint works. Look forward to seeing more like this in the future. I don't see a joke in the image but I doubt that I am supposed to. Best.

Wow!!! This is stunning (no joke). First of all, the photo inside the image is beautiful and the treatment you have given it is both unusual and eye-catching. Too bad you're not a singer .... this would make a great CD cover. You have such an interesting sense of shape and line.
