Good colours, composition and just right frame.
Those powerlines are almost always in the way, nice work geting it out.

Thanks Judi. Couldn't really get me head round how it could be different cos the earth still rotates the same way whether it's Northern or Southern hemisphere. I'll be able to sleep tonight now.

Yes Den. Our sun does rise in the East and set in the West. But out here I have noticed that during the setting of the sun there is a small amount of colour over the East also. That is why I said that the colour was over the east but not over the West...until five minutes later when the colour was covering the west intensely, but another five minutes after that and it was all gone.

Judi, you've raised a question in my mind which may sound strange and I'm trying to get my head round but IT IS late here. I know your moon is upside down compared to ours. Our sun rises in the east and sets in the west. Is it the same for you. I can only think it does but the wording of your reply made me wonder. Put this thick old Brit out of his misery.

Den, here in Australia...the colour of the sunsets come and go very quickly. You have to be ready with the camera. I checked this sky five minutes before taking this image and there was a touch of colour over the east, but nothing over the west. Five minutes after this image was taken there was nothing left. You have to be quick, so you don't really get a chance to think about what you are seeing too much. My mind is usually on the camera settings...LOL!! But the kids were running around all excited. That was fun.

Yes, it seems whilst I got the colour...Kel and Al got the lightning. So I am not surprised that you also got part of this.

Wow.....This is nice. I think your fire have moved down to Sydney today.
I actually didn't mind the silhouette of the power lines.

Thankyou. I agree with you. But I also feel that sometimes powerlines can make an image or break an image. In this instance it was very distracting to the main subject.

My sons job of an evening is to run outside and check for the sunset. Yesterday he had lost his voice but he got so excited at the sunset he managed to squeak out his excitement. And justified he was.

Being a former landscape/nature/sunset shooter, I usually find sunset images very boring - until now. your sunset photos are superb and very breathtaking and I enjoy seeing everyone of them. this one is no exception. Of course, coming from you, I don't think any photo of your will ever be boring.

I think in Dante`s Inferno.
But here the shape of the trees and the houses shows a calm end of the day.
So nice.

And once again... super!! You're going from 'cool' to 'red hot'.... I like....!!! Well spotted (and some excellent cloning/removal work as well...). 'Keep the fire alive...!!!!' (hope you catch my drift, as I'm not a native speaker... but Dutch isn't supported on UF ;-))
