About
I was in Turkey's Kackar Daglari, a long walk out of Barhal up at a beautiful mountain lake on a hot summers day. When I arrived at the lake I noticed a family reclining at it's side. They invited me over for a cup of tea, which was architypably Turkish. I'd then started wishing that I'd stuck to my original plan on camping the night up here. As the family gathered their things to make the walk back down to their village I too made plans for the long walk back to my hotel - some 12Km down the mountain. Then a group of German and Isreali hikers arived. My original plans of spending the night up here looked better than ever and it certainly wouldn't have been a lonely one. We struck up conversation and one prepared me a coffee for the walk back. It was an Mocka espresso prepared on an MSR stove, some ground cardimon to add to the flavour. Why was I going to walk all the way back? Well I ended up so and really nearly messed my knees up on the way down hill.
