Stephen, if you only knew what my lighting setup was back then. 2 Sunpack 544 camera flashes with home-made brackets to attach to a light stand with 2 60" umbrellas - not pretty but it got the job done. I now shoot Photogenic strobes. As to your question, Alien Bees, SP Studio Systems and Photogenic all have good light kits for under $1000 that should fit most of your needs. Best bang for the buck is probably Alien Bees although I am not sure how durable they are.

Thank you Carol. I'm your idol???? LOL! Carol, I wish I had half your insight and creativity - you're my idol! I already have you on a pedestal!
This is a quote i love from Oscar Wilde -
"A work of art is the unique result of a unique temperament. Its beauty comes from the fact that the author is what he is. It has nothing to do with the fact that other people want what they want. Indeed, the moment that an artist takes notice of what other people want, and tries to supply the demand, he ceases to be an artist, and becomes a dull or an amusing craftsman, an honest or dishonest tradesman. He has no further claim to be considered as an artist."
Carol, you always remain true to yourself as an artist (yes, I do consider you an artist) and you never do a piece of work aimed to win an award or just to please the viewers. Carol, I respect you for that - you may never win an award on Usefilm (anybody listening) but you have a legion of fans that truly appreciate your work and vision. Your work always inspires me. My "Vargas Series" was inspired by your "Service Girl" image. My "Dark Valetine" series was inspired by your "Love Letters" image. Your work will always continue to inspire me and others.
Love you Jeff

Thank you Karen, You know I always appreciate your comments. The string was actually like that in the photo, I manipulated the image so she appears to be bending into the wind - this required me to rotate her hip and legs otherwise it would look like I just tilted the image. The illusion would work better if the hair was also "blown back".

Jeff, I personally like the string sticking out of her back. I feel it adds to the movement in the picture.. I also admire this series of retro images your working on..Anything that brings back innocence to me is great!
Wonderful work sweety...keep it up. Your my idol!

Jeff, you never cease to amaze me. Even as busy as you have been, you have managed to create a wonderful new series of work. I really like the retro look, personally I love retro style. The only thing that bugs me in this one is the string sticking out of her back, but I am guessing you did it on purpose? Anyways, another nice addition to your current series~
