Three lovely children and great models Judi. You must be soooo proud. This is a classic shot which I find is very difficult to pull off. Nancy says it's like the cover of "Meet the Beatles". Don't know if that's a title change but over here it is "With the Beatles". Same technique though.

Thanks Mark. Their similiarities aren't so evident in colour. The boy in the middle has brown eyes like their daddy, whilst the other two have blue eyes like me.

Thanks Nancy. I dressed the children in black with two of them using their daddys shirts...LOL!!
I then pointed two studio lights at them, but had them about their level. And that is basically it.

Judy, this is marvelous! What a wonderful type of portrait shot of your three children! I am just starting out in learning about portrait photos, and would very much love to know how you did this - it's exactly what I hope to do. (It reminds me a little of the portrait method they used for the first "Meet the Beatles" album, where all the Beatles wore black turtlenecks, taken against a black background.) Just fabulous!

This is a great combo shot of your kids Judi. I love that toning with the dark background and super lighting on their faces. It almost looks like a single shot and I think you should blend/clone background so individual frames blend together. Fantastic portrait of your handsom kids!
