Great shot. But if I may, I would Suggest that you might try toneing down objects other than the street car to make it a little less busy.

Regards, Frank

I like the color. Did you have such great light that it was naturally saturated, or did you have to crank it up a little in Photoshop?

What a great scene, so colourful. I like the perspective and the clarity. Alastair comment the rating was too low at 4.9 even though it has gone up it is still way too low.

It's funny, Jim, but until I read your explanation I was going to answer your title "Desiree." Good one!

Only a rating of 4.9? Its way better than that! Beautiful colours in the tram and the sky and a timeless feel... Excellent! Love the history lesson too!

Lea,

Our tour guide told us that the streetcar that Tennessee Williams made famous, ran on a street named after one of the dauthters of a large plantation owner - Desiree. Somehow, when the street signs were added the sign painter thought that Desiree was really desire misspelled and so the street signs bearing the name Desire were put up. No one ever corrected it and the street became Desire street.

I was hoping someone else might jump in to see if there is a collaborating story of if this is just another New Orleans legend.

I love the colors and the subject. I just wish you'd left a little more space around the street car. By the way...how did it get is't name?
