The Heckscher Farm is a living resource for learning. Here school children and families make personal connections to a not-so-distant past when farming was a major way of life in the region.
Through observation, exploration, and participation, visitors can immerse themselves in the experiences of farming. They will understand our dependence on the natural environment to produce food and products that we need to survive and thrive.
What We Are
We are a Working Farm. Visitors are invited to explore our traditional working farm, to discover the sounds, smells, and textures that evoke memories and reveal the nature of farmlife, and to observe staff, including young interns, conduct the daily chores that maintain this active, productive farm.
