About Okay, so this is what all the fuss was about. I know this certainly isn't my best photos. But this was a series of four very quick handheld photos that I put together manually to form this panorama. This image shows the brunt of the haze across the horizon. Already the height of the hills had disappeared. It only took 10 minutes for that cloud to completely cover where I was standing. Very faintly in the foreground centre you can see my daughter standing there to give you an idea of the area this photo covers. The sharp edge on the sunrays to the right of the sun is not from joining the photos. That is how they were.

I hope you enjoy it all the same.

Dear Judi,

this is really lovely. I would only like it to be slighly less dark, to see more details. Maybe you could push the levels a bit ?...
Regards,
Paulo

Debarshi. In the small version it is very difficult to see her. She looks very distorted in this size. At the bottom of the image you can see an odd shaped figure almost like a cross standing out from the rocks almost over the water. I didn't even realise she was in it until I was putting the images together and had zoomed in.

Yes, little did I know at that moment in time as to what was actually unfolding in front of me. I knew it was big and threatening, but I had to work quickly, so I could get around to the otherside for a better viewing point.

Manu, you have a sharp eye. In the original photos the foreground was quite dark. As I said in the about, I had to very quick with these shots. Normally I would've taken two lots, one lot to focus on the foreground and one lot on the background. And then they would have been blended together to make one final composition. But in this instance I didn't have that opportunity. So instead I lightened the foreground. I couldn't take it to high without ruining the image, so unfortunately I had to leave it as you see it. That is why I don't feel this image is my greatest quality but still a picture worth sharing because of the drama unfolding in it.

Great bit of cutting and pasting work going on here from a very prolific photographer. Sharp, full of color and great composition. Might want to look at the bottom left corner? I find because I can see some detail I want to see more. But there again I am seeing it on a PC...but good work
