About on a trip home from calgary, we stopped to run around & take photos in the snow. I love these old cattle fences that are seemingly everywhere in alberta.

It's the depth of field that really makes this photo for me, bringing the restrictive fence right into focus while making the land beyond a rather mysterious blur. This feeling is also emphasised by the sombre black and white tones. A perfect title I think! Congratulations on a magnificent shot.

thanks so much for your support, Darren. I must admit that i do love pulling the colour out of shots - i find that it so often seems to bring the attention more to the mood & movement of a shot, shape & form & all that. That's the fun thing about ps, but i must say that i'm still so drawn to b&w film photos - they hold some richness or something that i find hard to create with digital. Thanks, again - all the best - jennifer

You have a fabulous portfolio Jennifer. You truly have the B+W photos down to a science. I chose this photo to comment on though, simply because of it's contrast from the rest of your portfolio; and of course because I love these kind of wintery shots. congrats.
Darren

When i lived in alberta i noticed this too...they ARE everywhere!! Your photography is addictive by the way! I like the way that this one looks a bit like pinhole.

Good interesting shot Jennifer. Lov the shallow DOF and the way the eye is continually drwan to the centre of the image. Well done!

thanks, dave. There are really very few post photo effects in this piece, i added the border & played with the levels a bit & that's about it. The rest is all due to shooting polariod & how they sometimes come out a little wacky. That's one of the things i love about polariod film - i never really know what i'm going to get & i'm often pleasantly surprised by the outcome. Thanks again - jennifer

Interesting shot, nice tones, clever idea with the shallow DOF. In the right upper corner small surface artifact, minor issue.
