About looking at this scene, reminds me of what the pioneers of Canada had to go through to find their dream homestead. Much of Canada looks like this and it is just full of life. Unfortunately Humans are draining these areas creating a diminished environment for all of us.

Yes - a moody landscape - and a very beautiful shot!

Beautifully done, you have captured what looks like an old photo taken by these settlers. Great composition and the lighting on the water really draws you into the photo. Alison

Beautiful with this grain and toning. Well done, and very different for you!

Nice capture here, Tim! It makes you wonder sometimes how the early settlers made it through to the point of prospering! Very hardy folk!
I like the toning, really gives it a vintage touch!

You have captured the mood of the bush Tim.It works well with the sepia tones.

I agree that these 'wild, untamed places' have to be preserved in some measure if we humans want to continue to inhabit this planet for any length of time. I fear it is too late though.

I am always reminded of the lines from Big Yellow-Taxi by Joanie Mitchell

"They took all the trees and put them in a Tree Museum, and charged the people a dollar and a half just to see em'

Don't it always seem the same that you don't know what you've got till it's gone."

Cheers

John
