well done. of course it's "legitimate photography", it's yours, you saw it in a public space. (but of course there could be copyright issues in cases like these--photos of other people's handiwork--in the unlikely event you tried to make a profit from this image).

I liked you your contrast composition.. and your cropping.I would say this photograph looks like and theatrical poster then I read your information ans I saw that a billboard photo :)
