About & this shot was taken at the end of the day, as the sun set & the northwest wind blew in & shook up the sea.

hi roger - thanks for your comments. It's feels true, what you say about my interior shots feeling more studied, i guess that's because i shoot them with a sense of purpose, of know what i want to try & create & capture, whereas with landscapes & outdoor details & florals it all seems to happen for me more spontaneously - i never know what i'm going to discover on a trip out into the world or how i'll feel like shooting that day, that moment, whether i'll choose a wide-angle point of view or get out my macro lens. It's interesting to me that you picked up on that so clearly because i hadn't really thought about it before or looked at these different subjects comparitively. But, actually, i find it helps me to recognize my pattern - to be aware of it so i can either continue on down the same path or choose, from time to time, to try & shake it up & do things differently. So, i thank you for paying attention to my work & for pointing that out to me - i really appreciate it. Thanks.

yeah I am with you on the blues J..tis weird your landscapes have a careless look about them they dont appear studied at all whereas your other interior work is so different anyway I like 'em all

hi tara - ya, hornby's amazing! small but surrounded by incredible beaches & the skies through much of the year are incredibly dynamic. Until it's summer & then it's blue, blue, blue...which i love, love, love as well!!! And it's a great community here - lots of creative people just living their lives out wrapped up in all this beauty. I'm so glad to be here! Guess i did something right, sometime. It's interesting because i haven't really shot much traditional landscape but i'm so surrounded by all this beauty that i seem to be just taking it in as it is instead of needing to blur it or blow it out or...well, for now anyways - i'm sure that'll change at some point & my innate wierdness will need an avenue to come through! It's great seeing your work on the site...& thanks for your comments & support. :O)

hi Serge - thanks so much for your responses & suggestions. I don't always agree with them, but i am happy to hear how other people perceive my images, & what does & doesn't work for them. I kept this photo pretty much as it was shot in camera, i just had to bring up the highlights somewhat as it was shot near dark, but i liked that the cyan & blue tones helped to create the feeling of the cold wind that was whipping in off the ocean that evening. Your photo works well, too, but for me loses that icey feeling that i was trying to capture. It's great, though, to see them both & to be able to compare the results, so i appreciate you taking the time to show me your views as well. All the best to you - jennifer

Here my variant. Reason and start point for correction - foam at foreground should not be too cyan-bluish hue.
Regards,
Serge
P.S. If you need not in my comment, just say, OK?

Looks cold, especially with all the blue tones and only a trace of warmth left from the sun. Gives me a feeling of loneliness as well. Definitely moody.
