I went with the Canon 300mm f/4 L IS USM and the Canon 1.4X II Tele.
I really like the IS. I find I can shoot at f11 of f16 or even f22 in situations where I was having to shoot at f5.6 before
The low dispersion glass really makes a huge difference too.
I have posted some images shot with the new lens if you want to check em out.
