Great bridge Kriss. Thought you'd made it to Reading as we have an identical bridge. You've certainly caught that swan perfectly. 7+++

Graham

Goodmorning Ned! Thanks for all your kind comments! And your suggestion with this photo! Yes, you're right, it actually does look a lot better without colours! Colours were so boring anyway since the sun was playing hide and seek with me! ;-)

What do you think?

well .. i thought i have to come back to this.
I don't think it's technically possible to get such a wide view with a very shallow dof!

Personally, I like it as it is. Well .. I can understand Hugo's point of view!

A reasonalbe solution to this might be a b&w conversion as the white swan would stand out against the darker surrondings.

Hello Kriss!!
I agree with Margareth.. the swan is not the only good point in this successful compositon!!!
Very clear and sharp...with warm tones although it?s a winter scene.. and the ducks improve it!
Cheers,
Carmem

Great timing Kriss ... I?ve always admired the long neck that swans have ... the ducks do look small here :) Good colours & clarity!

Hello Hugo! You did a nice job, thankyou! :-)) But now you blurred my beautiful millions of seagulls on the house roof to right!

Haha... just joking! (But those little microscopic dots are actually seagulls!)

Perhaps this photo should be better in square format as well... with some crop on right? Then it might be easier for the eyes to "know" where to look.

Dear Kriss, this one got me torn. Not sure what the primary subject is in this one. My eye keeps shifting from the bridge to the swan, occasionally stopping at the duck, then back to the building on the right. The pose of the swan is fantastic, though, as is the motion blur. I'd love a very shallow DOF in this photo, blurring out the background, whilst keeping this composition... (see attached...)

Cheers,

Hugo

I have looked at all three of your swan shots and they are all very nice, I think I like this the best as the 'dancing swan' is good, and I just love one little duck right in the foreground, but the view is an excellent shot on it's own, so together they make a wonderful composition
