Michele,
Thanks for your words and notes, here and also about the previous photo too - that was also my fav hence uploading that some time ago.
Re the EOS3 I played with the eye-control when I first had it as a feature but didn't really take on the idea and as you said just use the central AF point and recompose.
It's something i've become more aware of now since buying a 20D as the AF points are different and also the AF modes offer a third option - AI Focus, which I soon realised didn't suit my style of focusing so had to revert back to one shot instead. Perhaps some manual focusing should be adopted but with the accurasy of AF and usually many other things going on I've moved away from this.

Yeah, this really stands out as an exceptional portrait. I like how the blacks fall completely away, and how you've tightly cropped her.
GREAT!

really nice photo. I remember a similar one u uploaded sometime ago (that one was much more striking IMO)... and I think this one suffers the same prob as the previous: focus is a bit soft. BTW how do u focus with your EOS3?... I mean, do u use the eye-control or just the central AF point focus and recompose? I just asking because eye-control could be a bit hard (at least to me) to focus exactly where u want..
