Thanks for your comments, Ellen. I got the effect using a long exposure. I turned on the neutral density filter to cut down the light and set the exposure for 15 seconds.

wow, your whole portfolio has great class ! This one is especially beautiful, great effect of "fog" on the water, great exposure on the lighthouse .. magic (this is a terrain i don't master yet). Peter

Thanks for the comments, Chris. I have a tripod and used it for this shot. The exposure control was manual as well. I do have two film SLRs used mostly for B/W work these days. While the G3 is an excellent camera in its class, the SLR does offer a lot more versatility and control.

Thanks for the comments, Shane. I do have two film SLRs that I use mostly for B/W and I do plan to upgrade to a digital SLR.

Very good coastal shot - but I do agree w/ Shane. Also, I'm not sure if you used manual or automatic settings for this exposure, and did you use a tripod? If not, I would defenitly reccommend it, and I think taking the step up to a film or digital SLR will make a large difference in so many ways (lens flexability, image quality, screw-on filters, etc).
Regards, Chris

Beautiful shot! The exposure is great and the lighting balances the weight of the lighthouse, hostel and coastline. Top notch lighhouse shot! You did a great job catching the essence of the lighthouse... beam, rocky coast and all.

Hi Nitish,
I've seen your portfolio and I think its great. The potential is there! If you can afford it though you should get yourself an SLR because you will have so much more creative and technical control over your subjects. These photos are sellable too so maybe you should make yourself a new years resolution and take the step up!
Happy New Year, Shane
