About Yet another shot from the salars in Bolivia. Main reason I like the photo is the fact that it shows the hexagonal patterns made by the salt. Unfortunately in such bright light and with such strong contrasts its hard to take a picture.

Well, the Salars de Uyuni are a definite must see. As is La Paz and Lake Titicaca. La Paz and surrounding area definitively deserves a decent amount of time. If you are into trecking and mounteneering, the Huayana Potosi would be a fabulous expedition (over 6000m). The town of Potosi is another worthwhile stop to do a tour of the silver mines there. However, make sure you book it with a good tour company - sometimes better to spend the extra few $. We weren't too pleased with ours. The work conditions you will see there will make you be really thankful for whatever job you have. It's really mindblowing.
Other than that, I heard the jungle in Bolivia is amazing if you have time to get out to the northern part of it. It's much cheaper than in Peru and supposedly a great experience with lots of animals (round Riberalta). If you have the time and desire, this is only the beginning, for Bolivia has got everything from high snow capped mountain peaks, to desolate landscapes of the salars and the lush green of the jungles and tropical climents. It's got the culture and the diversity!

You really should! This must be one of the most amazing places that I've travelled to. Bolivia is such a beautiful country with so much to offer - from nature to culture. I definitively did not get to spend enough time there and would love to go back. The added benefit is that it's really cheap. A 4 day tour of the salars including transport, food and accomodations cost $55 US per person. Everything else in Bolivia is an equal bargain. It's just a stunning and breath-taking place.

it does seem a bit blown out, but still is a nice shot. make sure to pack some filters in your bag.... or try bracketing the shots in future.

warmest regards ~ james

Kasia,
This is a very sureal place.
I was initially caught by the fact that the scene didn't look real. Just with the structured patterns of the salt, gave a tiled effect, and the empty-ness of the horizon.
Great Job
