A nossa é a "Pilosocereus brasiliensis" e permanece aberta durante apenas uma noite. Fecundada por uma mariposa fecha-se orgasmicamente e não fecundada fecha-se ao amanhecer. Fenece e não mais se abre. Tem uns 15 a 20 cm de diâmetro e perfume muito intenso. É da família das succulentas. Floresce durante o ano todo. No meo portfólio há muitos outros exemplares de florasções anteriores.

Nos temos uma planta no sul de Portugal que so abre as flores a noite e tem um aroma maravilhoso. Chama-se Dama da Noite. So que as flores sao pequeninas, esta parece grande. Sera que sao da mesma familia?
