I was born and raised in Brookings county but we never had anything like those. Excellant placement, good colors I'm now a painter and love the idea

LOL... I haven't been to a rodeo in years. I know, I live I south Dakota.... South dakota is divided east and west by the Missouri River. Most of the Rodeo crowd lives west river, Ranch country. I live east river, Farm country.
However, We do have a rodeo here late in the sommer. It would be fun to photograph. opertunity for some good stop action and motion blur shots.

They are a couple of very cute burros. I can't tell from the photo exactly how tall they are - but they do come in miniature versions. Regular burros can be taller, but one I knew personally was probably about 45" at the shoulder. (Very sweet tempered.) Miniatures are usually in the 30" range, plus or minus. The one on the left has definitely been bred down for size - note the really short legs - rather like a miniature shetland pony. I like the one on the right that has better proportions.
