Tim this really is a spectacular landscape photograph. Always good to revisit your portfolio - so much I keep missing, so many new ideas I must try :-)
Many thanks also for your kind comments.
Best wishes, Steve

Hi Dave, the red specks in the tree are because it is a arbutus tree and they have smooth red on the verge of orange bark....try Googling "arbutus tree images" and check it out.

Woooweeee Tim, looks like it could be scary. Can see you're in a hurry. Your usual signature - predominant low foreground - is conspicuous by it's absence. I miss it. Great shot nevertheless. Given the lense a knock? Could get a 300mmm on the insurance (Hehehe) Den

Like the mood in this shot, and the clouds are brilliant. What are the red specks on the tree, by the way?

Your colors are stunning and the clarity of the image is so appealing. Very nice work, all of them actually.

The branches are red because it is a type of tree where the bark is actually a very red color. It is called an Arbutus Tree

The branches look like they are on fire with the red tint from the sun, that against the darkening clouds is really beautiful. Alison

A wonderful sense of atmosphere, Tim! Perhaps the left foreground could have been a shade sharper. Best regards, Chris

Great comp, Tim. I especially like the red hues in the tree branches, they really draw my attention to that side of the photo.

hi tim - i like the balance you've created here - between the the shore, the water & the sky, & how they each relate to each other in this scene. Beautiful colours. Wasn't it glorious to see some sunshine today?! I missed the photo-op as i was finally seeing to my woodpile. Glad you made it out & captured some of that beauty & warmth. :O)

Storms definitely have more character. You have done a great job of capturing the mood here. Lighting is great - has that ultra golden clarity. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Fadel,
yeah the weather is just a churning maelstrom all winter....but the summer is more of a boring blue kind of thing. Most people here like that ...but I'm more of a storm appreciator.
