Hi Ed thanks for taken the time, a quick note from
me.I develop the negatives myself. It is all ilford material, I use ilfotec hc rapid developer
ilfo stop bath and ilford rapid fixer all at 20 celcius and also with the correct times to develop.
(9.5 minutes for the developer)than I wash and use a wetting agent and let it dry.
My cousin in Holland showed me how to do it.
Over time I will get more experience and learning from this side to do a better job, again thanks for your time and sorry to be a pain!
Thanks
Dirk

Dirk, you didn't say who processed your film. The wrong developer, too much agitation, wrong temperature, and overexposure can cause graininess.
The 6x4.5 negative size should make grain less of a problem. If someone else developed your film, blame it on the lab. Most of them don't have any idea how to process B&W anymore. You've go to do it yourself!

Ed, I just looked at your web site and your picture are absolutly gorgeous!
I just purchased and old pentax 645 manual
focus on E-Bay and have taken some picture with
it, however i find the pictures to very grainy.
I use ilford h-c 5 400, do you think this is good film for this camera, or maybe I have to usesomething else, I also toke some pictures with a petri 7 45 mm from the 70's.
If you have time, I would like maybe a comment.
Much appreciated!
Dirk Noort
