It's lovely, seducing, provocative , exciting, a superb portrait which demonstrates the class of the prime indeed, as you said. Interesting what you said about the flattening effect of the new 70-200 zooms, I am not sure if the zooms do it all alone or if the digital SLR supports this effect ? The 1.8/85 is one of the ideal portrait lenses anyhow.

Ciao Gabry, innanzitutto grazie infinite per tutti i tuoi gentili commenti.
Questa foto non è mossa....è un effetto voluto.
Ho adoperato un medio tele a focale fissa e scattato a tutta apertura ( f. 1.8 ) per dare un effetto flou e staccare completamente il soggetto dallo sfondo, mettendo così in risalto le labbra ( in questo caso le labbra erano il soggetto ).
Se avessi chiuso di più il diaframma sarebbe venuta un'immagine molto più nitida, ma avrebbe perso, per così dire, quell'aria un pò " provocante " :)
Va inoltre detto che quando si fa un ritratto ravvicinato ad una donna, anche se giovanissima, è sempre meglio dare un effetto sfumato, sia perché le giova in generale nascondendo in parte eventuali imperfezioni della pelle, sia perché le conferisce un aspetto più etereo.
Tra le foto che le ho fatto ne vedrai alcune flou ed altre nitide, a seconda di ciò che la ragazza voleva trasmettere.
Lavorando con diversi diaframmi cambia anche il senso dell'immagine e credimi, quest'obiettivo a partire da f. 3 o forse anche meno ha una nitidezza straordinaria.
Tuttavia, in certi casi, non è l'assoluta nitidezza che rende una foto più interessante o meglio riuscita.
E' solo una questione di scelte.

Se non avessi letto, non mi sarei accorto che la modella non è una professionista, merito tuo sicuramente, perchè l'hai fotografata in una posa provocante ma anche sbarazzina, belle le luci morbide ed il soft del ritratto, mi piacciono pure la bocca lucida ed i ciuffetti sugli occhi, c'è tutta la tua eleganza in questo ritratto!

un ottimo ritratto, morbido, con una posa ed illuminazione che mettono molto in risalto la bocca (e quindi il titolo e' molto azzeccato ed indicativo) ed una bella composizione

la resa sulla pelle molto soft..bellissima, la composizione poco simmetrica...ottima (anche le orecchie di lei sono asimmetriche)....

This photo, like others I have of this model, was taken in some sort of a public studio setting, so the worst possible condition.
There were 2 photophlood lights, but the girl was no professional model and she stepped away from them all the time, so practically there was almost no light.
As, under those circumstances I couldn't use my zooms, I had to choose a fixed focal, a Nikon 85 mm. f. 1,8 with no flash at all @ f. 2.8 aperture ( hence the soft blur ).
I'd rather say dim ambient light, the only difference being that, since some tungsten light source was there....somewhere, although not directly on the subject, my WB parameters were set to 3200 Kelvin.

Beautiful portrait Antonella,
I have done so many portraits and usually I find so many little 'nit picky' things that I would like to see done differently.
No so with this one, I would not change anything, it's really GREAT!
Wonderful lighting, she has loop lighting, the shadow below the nose not touching the lip...and also has catchlights in her eyes. Flash, but only a small amount, doesn't overpower at all. (at least I THINK you have some flash) overall has the quality of natural lighting, soft in appearance. BEAUTIFUL!
Good seperation from the background. Good subject expression...
Top notch portrait.
Someone mentioned that perhaps clone out the 2nd catchlight. That would be good, but certainly does not take away from the EXCELLENT quality of this superbly done portrait.
