Practise Larry, practise. Follow the cat around and focus right in. Sometimes turn the flash off and increase your exposure settings to play with. Try putting the dial on P or evn the camera setting. Just fiddle with the settings and see what you get. That is the only way to learn.

Thanks Judi, in what I am doing I am having simliar troubles getting sharply focused, like I had with the Nikon?? There are saveral focus settings I apparently do not have figured out yet. I have taken several of the cat and a house plant, but not like yours for example. Maybe tomorrow......
