About they lost the game but I walked away with this image. what you can't see here are the 40+ mph wind gusts that made it hard to keep the camera still, with dirt and corn leaves blowing in our faces.

Thanks for the comment Tyler. I believe that unless you're doing studio still life and you control every element and process, there's always a bit of chance involved.
What separates guys like me from the seasoned pros is that while I will get a lucky shot now and then, the pros know how to "get lucky" on a fairly consistent basis. "Fortune favors the prepared..." Best wishes, Kurt

This is what my associate who is a photojournalist would call a lucky shot. Great capture!

Thanks for the comment, Dave. I usually cop out and use the 'action' program on my camera during soccer games but it was so windy last Saturday when this was taken I opted for aperture priority set at f/8. Action mode keeps the aperture wide open and I was afraid I wouldn't get proper DOF and that I might get blur from the wind moving the camera. (several shot were in fact blurry) Kurt

Great action shot, Kurt, with both the player's feet and the ball off the ground! A difficult exposure against the sun.
Dave.

I love the overall tone and grain - has a real 70s feel. Probably not one for the purists, but this is a great shot from my pov

Good shot. I like the texture feel to it. Kinda shows the stress of the game.
