Thankyou. I know birds are beautiful with colour, but they are also beautiful without.

Thankyou so much. I am so pleased that I wasn't the only one who could see the beauty of using them in BW tonings. Done correctly I think it can produce some awesome results regardless of the subject.

Cheers

Thankyou Gust@vo. They are pretty colours. I actually attached a colour version for comparison in the comments. That way you can decide which is more preferrable.

Yes Kurt. I thought to myself, that everybody loves the colour of birds. So why not try them from a different angle. Make them look past the colour and look at the makeup of the bird, their personality that shows through, their character. If that makes sense. It does to me. I see these birds everyday. And yet, when people come to see the birds, they see the colour and not the bird itself. I just uploaded another one, but in colour.

Hi Al. I sweet talk them...LOL!! No seriously, a lot of patience and it helps that I have other birds flying around them to distract them.

I guess the Richard Avedon project doesn't specifically say "humans" must be your subject.
Judi, you rule breaker you... Establishing a connection with a pair of birds. Who'd a thunk that??? Formal avian portraiture - now that's an original concept! No colors to distract, only focus on the birds as what they are. Kurt
