About
In my quest to get a good Heron shot this morning , I found myself without a shot , and in the middle of nowhere . While turning around in the driveway of a small harbor , I noticed movement in a pile of large boulders . The rocks were left overs from past construction . It turned out that I'd found a "community" of wild cats living in and under the boulders . These were real wild cats , not house cats let loose . The cats were extremely timid ,and unapproachable . This shot was taken @450mm FL , looking down into a "cave" , where this guy was peeking out at me . There was a sliver of natural light going diagonally across his face ( that you can see in his eyes) , and I tried to use it to show the detail in his face , without ruining the darkness around him . I counted more than 15 individuals in this "community" .
Honestly , I am not sure if it is the same guy . But , I think that it is . At the time this picture was taken , I really had no idea , but later , when I looked at the shots , I though hmmm ..., that is the same guy . Personally , I really liked the markings on this cat , and the longer I stayed , the more comfortable he got with me . By the end , I had the feeling that he really wanted to be friends . If only I had more time . I just might have to go back .
What a nice crisp shot. Is this the same little guy as in your later post? Looks like he has the same face markings. I don't wanna stop staring at him. I'm totally smitten! :)))
