About The ducks were particularly skittish while we were there. A lot of predation by Coyotes, Golden Eagles, and Northern Harriers may have been the reason.

Toni:
ah, if I only were a master. I'm merely a journeyman trekking along drawing inspiration from nature and all its creatures. Thank your for your comments.

This works so well in color and feel. I consider you to be a master and am glad you put it up. It gives me permission to consider some I don't due to blur or portrait framing on nature images I shoot. Toni

It certainly conveys that sense of movement. And the colours of the background make it very appealing.

Robert: Since this image was just sort of one of those accidental finds, I don't feel too bad that it wasn't horizontal. I actually had intended to include the hills in the background into the frame hence the vertical orientation at 1000mm of focal length. Much of my work is very loosely planned if it is ever planned at all. I like to see what happens. As you know, sometimes the magic works, sometimes it doesn't.

The colors really blend nicely from foreground to background, and 1/30 seems to be the perfect shutter speed for the effect. Verticle wasn't the obvious choice but again it seems to be the right one. Very nice image.
