Brian: I've converted the original image into b&w (Decompose->LAB Color-> L Channel -> some Levels&Contrast adjustment) I've duplicated this b&w Layer, added a Gaussian Blur effect to the upper layer and set the Layer transparency to Multiply mode. Finally, I've added a Layer mask to this layer. The mask was created with GIMP's Plasma filter. After all, I've set the tones with Color Balance.Oh, I almost forgot, I'm a GIMP user :) Regards, Gabor
