About thought maybe I'd ask all my usefilm friends for ideals and tips as well as any help with this project. Using either of these eyes picture (can be cropped was just keeping it big enough to work with) I need to make like tiger scratches over the eyes so that they show through the "tear marks" if that makes sense. I have seen signs and such where you can read the word but it looks like its been torn into, scratched by a big cat or whatever. Not sure how to do this. I know I can use PS and double layer it and pull the bottom through but what gets me is how to make the other part of it, the tear marks, havent seen a pic of just that. Then I planned to somehow fade it out around the edges, whatever works with the overall image. All ideas are extremely appreciated!!

Richard,
I am having problems using plugins. I have downloaded some and wanted to test them out but I cant even figure out how to open them in PS, I know I've done it in the past and I did check the link in preferences to make sure it was in the plug in folder but I cant open any. Still trying to find the right scratches. Seen a commercial about Alien 2 the movie (i think it was) and those were the right scratches!! Any help is appreciated as well as all your comments are deeply appreciated!

Rose,
thank you for your comments and assistance. this is the closest thing I have seen so far. Im not sure about how the little boxes are around the rips and I'd prefer the rips closer together since they are eyes it'd be hard to spread them apart and look normal. Im just kinda stuck on this project, havent gotton alot of feedback thus far. I will go to that website you suggested thank you very much. I havent worked with plug ins much. I do use adobe photoshop though. Thank you, they are my eyes. Everyone always asks if they are contacts but they arent, they are real. Im trying to com eup with a tattoo actually, that is what this project is for. Thank you so much for your feedback!

I think I know what you mean. Is this what you're looking for? This is just a plug-in... but such a good one. Alien Skin Software Xenofex 2 you can find a demo at http://www.alienskin.com. Hope this helps. I love the eyes by the way... nice color.

Hi Mandy, how about using the real paw of a cat, or buying an old foxs foot - the sort of thing they use as lucky charms. Then you could photograph this on white or whatever colour you like and use it as a key/mask in PS. Easier than drawing it. Afterwards you could distort the edges to make it look real and with a discreet edge and shadow it would look 3D. Hope this inout helps. Best wishes Neil

I think I understand. I have never done it but my first thought is to tare some fabric and then photograph it and use it for your next layer. Just an idea. Maybe use a prime color fabric so you can have more exact control of the blend?
