bren, mother nature giveth and she taketh away. i empathize with you. there are places out there that are tailor made for sunset conditions and yet they are obscured from the spectacle. still, you did an excellent job. i think i can see what it was you were looking for. perhaps a warming filter would've helped nudge it in that direction. the only other option (that i can see having never been there personally) would be to shoot this from the other side with an ND grad. that way you could have the spires against the sunset colors. wonderful photo, regardless.

Beautiful Landscape Bren, I am so exited I am getting a camera just like yours. It will come with the default lens. 18-70mm I plan to use that one until I get little bit acquainted and learn more about lenses. I plan to have. One walk around for Portraits and landscapes, One for Macro One for longer shots? 70-200 VR I am not sure with the other ones... any suggestions? Thank you? One more thing? What type and brand of memory would recommend and why?
