About This was tough jellyfish to capture. Always moving and in a very tough lighting situation. The motion blur is slight, but that was actually intended to show a glimpse of this creatures graceful movements. This also was unique in that it showed the patterns and textures of the top and underside of the bell. Considering the lighting situation and that this was a handheld shot I think it came out quite well.

I too want to return before the end of the year. I found out that they're removing the Living Art exhibit at the end of the year and will begin preparing a new exhibit with Seahorses and Seadragons. That exhibit will be opened in 2006. I think next year they're opening a Ray exhibit near the kelp forest.

jim, you ain't kidding! this came out great! these guys were my biggest challenge. got a few but in order to get enough light i had to back up quite a bit so my compositions weren't as good as this. i got the same motion effect in mine but they look like flames flying in midair. you got some excellent detail here and the composition is just wonderful. a true nat geo cover shot! have to add to my favorites. excellent job!

take care,
tom

PS - you're making me want to return and give it another shot ;^)
