I have been sending my cameras to Canon Service Center ever since they were in Lake Success. I now send it to their New Jersey address and have them give it a complete check. With your situation, I would assume you are still under warrantee.
The charge varies with the amount of service you require, but they advise of this charge before preoceeding.

Ah, what's a checkup about Bob ? You bring your cam to the shop, and you have to miss it for how long ? Who does this checkup, the Canon Repair Center ? Interests me too ! Surely since beginning August the LCD display did not work anymore (cam is 9 months old) .. regards, Peter

I feel the same way about mine. At first I was a little apprehensive as I had a focusing problem, but the factory corrected that and it's worked perfectly since then (about a year ago). Soon it will be time to give it its own check up. I find the check up prevents surprises in the field. I've been doing this ever since I started owning Canon camers.

Thx for your comment Bob. The 300D is my third eye, it really does what i expect from a camera.. my greatest piece of electronics (after my computer) ;-))
