My first reaction was one of disbelief - absolutely wonderful shot!

a response to zachry's comment. The space at the top of the photograph is necessary for the bird to look into. It's like leading a shot with a rifle or a camera. If there is no where for the subject to move into the shot becomes static and dies. The most common problem with the perception of composition is that has to be centered and perfect.

I know I am an amateur and shouldn't be critiquing you, but would it have been possible to crop the the top 5-10% and add a little more wing at the bottom? Thanks. Please respond via email: commanderq3@hotmail.com

Al's right, how am I supposed to comment on an image that's already exquisite? (oh dang, hehe). I've seen this same image by other photographers, but never quite this good.

Steve....I thought I had left a comment but guess not...superb image of a rare moment (at least to my eyes). Which leads me to a question I'll post in the forum.

Steve you make it so hard to leave a comment, since the images are so beautiful. The bird is just magnificient and is acting like he/she know's it. Simply spectacular.
