About
The place where I live seems to change everyday. This is a house that I used to drive past everyday ... then one day I noticed a sign in front of it stating it was zoned commercial and an office building was going up in it's place. This home was abandoned, riddled with ivy, and basically I knew I would be able to see this house for only a short while longer. Inside this home is basically what you see here, an old forgotten farmhouse. This place has been long gone for years now, a strange feeling overwhelms me to photograph things before they inevitably change, and are gone from our lives forever.
I wonder if the other photographers out there feel compelled to carry their cameras with them for that one thing that highlights their day, whether an image of sorrow or joy; something off-center, slightly abstract and visually magical to give back as your own art.
That is one part of why I love photography. Half the beauty is the part the photographer creates, the other half the environment creates. That balance is how I define the math of a good picture.
