Great capture Steve - not too many pigeons near to me as they can end up in "pies" !!

Steve, really great shot, have to agree about the DOF, but what could ya do about it??
Not much with your p & s camera, right?
Just have to wonder what this would look like in black and white?

Hi Gayle,

Thanks as always for you kind and thoughtful comment. I agree with you about the DOF. This is one of the problems with these little P&S digital cameras. Although they are incredibly handy and sometimes can get you a shot you couldn't get otherwise, controlling DOF is torture. Since they are very small focal length, the DOF is pretty broad anyway.

So I'll need to revisit Bryant Park on a future NYC trip with my new equipment. I could easily spend a few hours just within Bryant Park and on the streets bounding it

Best regards,
SteveR

hi, like the comp and the motion of pigeon..lighting, particularly the foreground showing shadowing is very nice..i think a min. DOF would have thrown background into a blur which would have made this a stronger shot..regards,gayle
