I have no idea why,but the death of JFK came to mind the second i saw this image..maybe because it comes across as so real in a documentary journalism kind of way..make sense?..LOL..it's a compliment,lady!..beautiful in a somber way..love the lighting and tone..gayle

Could you have chose a sadder title? It looks like the last rays of late afternoon sunshine are just brushing the tops of the flowers. Excuse me. I have to wipe the tears from my eyes.

Very nice B&W picture.I like the light of the sun on the graves, like God is taking care of those people. This is a symbol of The End or a new beginning!

I do like the "feeling" you are able to create in your photos. Some select subjects to film, and others can create feeling. You do both in your site,,,sometimes both in the same photo. I am afraid I am stuck with filming objects, but I can still admire yours. Del.

HI Rebecca. What a beautiful shot. The atmosphere with the bench and the flower is the front of the photo is full of a certain contemplation. You control perfectly the grey tones! 7++. Congrats. fabrice

I know Oak Cliff well, having grown up there, and then returning to live there for a time as an adult. One cannot now physically differentiate between Dallas and Mesquite, but the atmosphere still has a distinction--- drop me a line when you are in the area, if you are so inclined.

I think the fliter added a deeper tone, and a heavier mood. Nicely done, sad yet sweet. Dottie

Thanks so much, Randal. I see you're from Dallas?
I just took a look through your portfolio. I recognized a few places. I had a brother in law who was a police officer in Dalls, who patrolled Oak Cliff a lot. I was in Mesquite in 68 and 69. The last time I was there, in 97 I think, I couldn't tell where Mesquite stopped and Dallas started. I grew up in NE Texas, and lived in Louisiana intil 99. I plan on making it back home next year. Thanks again for stopping to comment.

What a beautiful thing to say! I am most flattered. It felt almost like a warm fuzzy :)
And couldn't have come at a better time. Thank you, my friend.

...not 'just' a cemetery shot, Rebecca, another quintessential cemetery shot is more like it. A beautiful ethereal serene atmosphere. The rows of white flowers are beautiful and give this an overall delicate feel. I have missed your wonderful photos and suffered withdrawal so now am getting a look at as many as I can :-)
