Location City -  Balad
State -  JEDDAH
Country - Saudi Arabia   Saudi Arabia
About As I walked through the Souq Al Alawi, an impressive restored building, ?Biet Nassif? with a 700-year old flag mast and a 15th century cannon on its front yard dominating the King Abdul Aziz Historical Square, caught my eyes and enticed me to come in. Biet Nassif, restored by the Jeddah Historical Area Preservation Department presently houses a cultural centre. The excavation of a 15th century underground water canal that once brought water from mountain 15 kilometres away underlines the historical and archaeological wealth waiting to be uncovered in Balad. It came as a mild cultural shock as I exited the market place of Balad, to be confronted by glittering high-rise buildings, shopping malls and ear piercing horns of cars, awakened from my short travel via Time Machine to my own Arabian Nights dreamland.

I knew this was yours right off Ozjan. You always present the most wonderful soft colours and textures and unique images all perfectly framed. You could open those doors and step into another time and world. Nice job!

Hiiiiiiiii...nice to see you back!!
It's a beautifull door... :-) but..I'm with Alison..the frame is too overwhelming..
The bottom of the picture is very beautifull.. like the old stones...:-)

Take care now...

Ozjan, Beautifully detailed entry way and door, I love the rich history you give along with your photos. The only thing that bothers me is the frame, I think it overpowers the photo. Alison
