So you have been trying out your new lens Jon. A difficult shot to accomplish hand held. I like the catchlight in the eye, it makes all the difference to animal pictures. I think a slght crop off the foreground would make it a more dynamic picture. Best regards John

Superb image,Jon dearest,excellent crystal clear picture of the bird.
I know I'm nit-picking but I would have watched out for the slight blur on the foreground.
Difficult to say how to do it, since you needed the speed, maybe - but I'm just trying to figure it out - a little crop to focus on the seagull.

Hi Jon,
VERY nice photograph, love the wind ruffling his feathers, and his great eyes, yes that's CLOSE for sure. ANd 'nervously close' to that sand with your camera, but most impressive at this camera angle. For me, this really makes the image. And the dark/water behind him is really nice as well.

Very nice catch. Ruffled by the wind.
I would have included the sky a bit more than the ground. The bird is looking up and my eyes are looking for bit more room. Instead eyes are pulled down by the foreground.
