About Hybiscus found at Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania. The ruffled edges were so pretty and delicate it just made the flower look so ladylike in her ruffles. Thanks for your comments

Morning Sam

Yes, of course it shows less of the flower - but you have such a great big "floral palette" to work with, that it doesn't matter. Plus, you have all those wonderful pixels in your original image that allows you to "stretch" the "canvas".

I forgot to mention in my original comment - I would have also spiked the levels a tiny bit - just to bring out a little more oomph in the red.

Can you imagine this image of yours blown up and on a wall? Spec-ta-cu-lar!

Have a great weekend Sam - I will be waiting for some babies to born!

Hi Linn, I recropped it I think it does look better, although it doesnt show as much of the flower?? , the settings I believe were 5.6 and 1/350th of sec exposure,?? Thanks for taking time to help me with my pictures. I value your opinions. ;) sorry I didnt realize that I was signed in under Danny we do this often, and reply to people and comment on people and then realize that we didnt do under our own log in. sorry

Beautiful capture Samantha, fantastic to get everything in focus. Tell Dan next time I'm over I will have to go to his camera shop ... I need an upgrade lol

Sam, do you know that you did really well with this one? The Hibiscus has those very funny little watchemacallits at the end and they are quity furry and blurry :-) Look how sharp you got yours!! Fabulous 3D feel to this one - colour capture is fantabulous (I always battle with reds, and whites, and purples ... gosh, I battle with most colours!)

LOVE the texture and folds on the petals - too beautiful.

BUT ... I would make a tighter crop and eliminate the green corners. By doing so, you will also move the centre to the side - which might not be a bad idea?

What were your settings? Would you mind including them in future? If you don't find the applicable tick boxes, just zap them into the "about" section.

Great work Sam!
