About This is my mom's roll top desk. Some may say this shot is not artistic, but I tend to like things like this. The desk is very obviously falling apart, but I would rather her not get rid of it because she has had it since I was about four. I remember her sitting at that desk a lot when I was younger and even now. It has traveled through three houses and through many tough times. Some how it seems very symbolic of life: It is always a mess - there are bills to pay - there are candles to light - there are photos to look up at - and outside beyond this world the trees are blowing in the wind.

I like it. It makes me wonder what kind of person she is. If it means a lot to you, I don't think it should matter what anyone else thinks!
I find it very interesting.

Brad, unfortunately most people do not find this kind of shot interesting. It is the kind that I love because it is so simple and very honest. Thanks for your comment. Tim

Ahhhh....the world thru your eyes. I too, find a persons desk to be quite telling. I have taken many pictures of the desk that I sit at right now, and have not posted any, but often thought that it SHOULD be interesting to others. Nutty. I did post a shot of my refrigerator, which follows the same idea. I really like that you explained what this shot means to you. Bravo.

I love personal images like these, especially when a still life captures a very personal emotion or memory as this does for me. Your work is beautiful and I greatly appreciate your comments on mine.
