Hi Hugo, you're right about the composition. No question about that (don't understand that I didn't see that myself). But the DOF....hhmmmm, not sure. I like a very shallow DOF in these kind of macros. Exactly for that sense of depth. Thank you for your detailed comments! groet, Marion

Hi Marion, Very dynamic shot, the white hairs come out perfectly against the black / dark background. I only think the DOF is just a tad too shallow. I always need to keep that in mind when I use the Sigma 105mm macro, too, as I have a tendency to go even as far as using the f2.8 aperture....
The DOF does however create a good distance between the fluff in the foreground, and those in the background.
I think the composition could've been a bit stronger if you'd crop off a bit on the right side of the image. The photo would've been a tad more balanced that way.
Still, a very strong image....
