Ah, frangipani! Or as they're known in Hawaii and here, plumerias. One of my favorite folwers for their elegant perfume. Darkness in a macro background isn't necessarily a bad thing, as it helps isolate your prime subject. More important is enough DOF to keep everything sharp that needs to be. If you're using the long end of this lens, deep DOF is going to be tough. Also f/5.6 is cutting that short as well. Use a tripod and shoot at f/11-22 You may also want to isolate one to three blooms at the same spot from your lens to help capture them all in focus more easily.

Very nice. The postage stamp edge does not do it for me but the composition is very good.
