Hi Gene! I like this version of old #40 better because it puts the emphasis on the train and not the surroundings! The tones are excellent!
Wonder how this would look in B&W with just the 40 in red?

good choice to convert to monochrome. Not sure about keeping that man on the platform in the frame as he's quite distracting. I would try cropping him out and some (half way between each track so to keep the curve in the pic) off the bottom and maybe a couple of pixels off the top, to square the image up as it's currently quite tall and skinny. see attached for example (I've also rotated it 0.4degrees counter-clockwise and reduced the sepia effect a bit)
