Dear Howie, Dear Henri,

Never forget the final objective of your shot.
Digital SLR are mainly for saving and for easy digital processing.
However, I told you that for me the Tri X is so human and for Reporters. By the way it is one of the oldest film on the market: a little bit difficult to expose (for Elan II E I suggest to try braketing on third step only and to choose central exposure or evaluative : easy with the jod dial (this is for Howie). Besides, I am not focused on the pixels number (as now it is enough with 6 MP) but on the film touch (photoshop is not all)and on the quality of the CCD. When I have only 24 or 36 pic rolls my eye is working differently.
I took also a simple 300D for colour shots because my investment is going now only on lenses.
Don't invest in a too expensive body because of tech. evolution : I would buy the EOS 1D mark II only if Canon after sales dept could change after two years my 8 MP CMOS by the latest CMOS. (Mister Canon, Mister Sony it could be a way to catch your customers as a camera is first a body and a lens...not a CCD)

Warm regards,

I like the grain effect from the trix film. Nicely composed. Have to agree with Henri, black and white film is definately better than digital IMHO.

I like the grainy effect given by Trix film. I am sure it desserves a better scan.
I know you have also a digital canon SLR : why all your B&W work is still with classic film SLR ?
